  • It’s National Bike to Work Day! Cycle through these photos to see our Wilson & Company wheelers in action! We spoke to several of our biking enthusiasts throughout the company; not only do they bike to work, but they spend much of their free time hitting the trails. We're fortunate to have such an active cycling community. Many of our engineers contribute to designing and constructing our community’s paths and roads to ensure accessible, efficient, and safe travel for all. Our bike routes are created by bikers, which confirms that the paths we create are safe and properly equipped to serve local cyclists. No road is better than one designed by the user itself! Isn't that wheely cool? Remember, as we continue to pedal towards a sustainable future together, always be aware of cyclists on the road! #BiketoWorkDay #civilengineering

  • Please join us in congratulating our very own Serena Foote! This week, Serena graduated with her Master of Science in Construction Management from Colorado State University. Go Rams! Here, she is pictured receiving her 'Ram Built Hard Hat' at the Colorado State Construction Management Professional Advisory Development Board Meeting. Originally based in our Denver office, she began her career with Wilson & Company five years ago as a marketing intern and then accepted a position on the communications team. After spending a year in our shared services department, Serena felt inspired by the impact our projects can have on the community. After discussing the future of her career with some of our engineers, she gained the motivation and support she needed to enter the construction side of the industry. While balancing work, studies, and commuting to and from school for two and a half years, she finally gets to celebrate this amazing accomplishment. Her drive to create and build better communities is a virtue Wilson & Company strives to bring out of its employees. Thank you, Serena, for showing us how to accomplish great things. We are so proud of her for achieving this career milestone! #constructionmanagement #congratulations

  • Team members from across our Colorado offices volunteered to clean up Monument Creek in Colorado Springs. Brenna Allison, Ryan Armstrong, Mark Crater, Dale Decker, Kimberly Espinoza, Vance Fossinger, Brian Spano, and Brad Bettag joined forces to make this area trash-free! The cleanup crew (with the help of their families) gathered enough trash to fill a pick-up and even saw some local wildlife. It was an eventful day with much success. At Wilson & Company, we are dedicated to keeping our environment sustainable for generations to come, both through our projects and volunteer work. Thank you to this team for their dedication to accomplishing great things! #collaboration #welovetheearth

  • This past week, our water resource engineers from the Phoenix office attended the Arizona Floodplain Management Association (AFMA) Spring 2024 Conference. Wilson & Company’s Corbin Bendel, EIT, Hari Raghavan, PE, CFM, Ph.D., Peng Zhang, PE, CFM, and Brian Schalk, PE, CFM, presented on various topics throughout the conference. To start the event, Corbin and Hari presented an Overview & Introduction to QGIS. Spanning over four hours, this class aimed to teach participants new to QGIS. Attendees gained familiarity with the program and learned how to set up a new project, view and modify spatial data, work with attributes, and use geoprocessing algorithms. On Thursday, Peng and Brian presented on Watershed Modeling and Flood Risk Assessment for Edwards AFB. On Friday, Peng presented again on Two-dimensional H&H modeling using freely available data and sensitivity to key inputs alongside Hari. We appreciate those who attended and congratulate Corbin, Hari, Peng, and Brian for their success in educating the greater engineering community! #conference #education

  • In 2007, Wilson & Company secured its first project for the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), repairing a signal in Hurricane. This project marked the beginning of our journey, leading to the expansion and eventual opening of our permanent office in South Jordan. Today, the team has grown to more than 30 employees, providing multidisciplinary services to Utah clients and the communities they serve. The Salt Lake City team won its first design-build project alongside Wadsworth Brothers Construction on the I-15/SR-77 interchange. Since then, this team has worked on many high-profile design-build projects, including some of the most significant projects in the state's history. We look forward to contributing to future projects that positively impact travel in Utah. This Wilson & Company location has so much to offer. Besides the beautiful mountain views, this office gives passionate professionals a place to practice their craft alongside a team that embodies Wilson & Company's culture of Higher Relationships. • Last Friday, Wilson & Company #sponsored a hole at the CSU Construction Management Golf Tournament. It's an honor for us to contribute as a member of the advisory board for the Department of Construction Management. Shoutout to Serena Foote, Eric Norwood, and Tim Kemp, PE from our construction administration team for representing us on the course! #constructionmanagement #HigherRelationships
